BIGGEST AMONGST THE FIVE || The Call of the Wild
By Sonny Mncedisi Dube
I toil, I trudge and I turn.
Mr
Rhinoceros is my name,
Sometimes I do think Mr Poacher is insane
On a relentless chase, to him my suffering is game,
Unbeknownst to him is that I am the ultimate game
He so zealously hunts and haunts my soul.
Bringing terror to the wild seems to be his only call,
How I wish I could fly or even silently crawl;
Beneath the bushes just to save my precious soul.
How I wish the rangers could catch and throw him in
jail,
That his ill-fated exploits may as a consequence fail.
Am I the biggest amongst the five?
That I should give my life as the ultimate price!
The five cannot be big if short of a single life,
Please heed the
call of the wild, save the Rhino,
save the Big Five.
